A STORY BEHIND THIS PRODUCT
The Smart Fit:ACTACT Pen case is a product that came into a market in February 2016 and sold its annual sales goal within two months. Since then this product is selling really well.
The concept of a “standing pen case” already exists; however, existing products were mostly made of cloth and the users had to manually fold some parts of the case in order to make it stand.
Yoko Kariyama, a member of the production team, was inspired by kitchen products made of silicon rubber. Due to the use of silicon rubber material, kitchen products can be folded into small sizes such as for putting away in a small storage space but can pop-up to and return to the actual size and shape when using. Utilising silicon rubber as a material, the team made it possible to create this very convenient standing pen case.
The benefits of silicon rubber material is not only limited to this “pop-up” functionality; its firmness and waterproof character give extra protection to the inside.
The SMART FIT ACTACT Pen case was selected as the best functional stationery product of the 25th Japan Stationery Award.
The pen case, that came from kitchen
This pen case is made from silicone. You can use it as a normal pen case, but you could also use it as a pen stand by pressing down the bottom of the pen case.
