Yukio Horie, who used to be a craftsman of the artist brush, is a founder of Pentel.
Using his knowledge and skills, Yukio decided to create a brush that is convenient and accessible for anybody.
With his partner Norio Yamada, they studied and researched different materials that could be used for the brush.
In 1970, they created their first Nylon brush material.
After several improvements, they eventually made a fake fur-like brush made of nylon 3 years after they first created a nylon brush.
In 1976, Pentel introduced the art brush pen with ink cartridge and it became a hit seller product since then.
The brush that came from a long time experience of a craftsman.
